Varispeed disables the tempo automation lane. Is there any way to make it work with automated tempo?
Sadly it's not possible. : (
The only way it would be possible if I could modify the actual automation. But we don't have access to automation lanes from Max.
There's a pretty time consuming workaround however:
- change everything with Varispeed, and check the current new tempo.
- Set Varispeed back to the 0 position.
- Turn the tempo automation back on, and adjust the whole thing so it matches the "new tempo.
- Turn off the Tempo change in Varispeed and transpose your project again.
I personally would just simply disable the tempo change if I work with a song that has tempo automations.
Can you make a real-time version of Varispeed for Live performances?
Sadly it's not possible.
Varispeed has to modify a lot of things, like the pitch parameters of Audio clips, the MIDI notes of the MIDI clips, plugin/device parameters and so on.
and it can't happen immediately. The larger your project, the longer it takes.
Varispeed doesn't work in Live 10.
Live 10 is not supported.
