My name is Nándi,

I Live in Budapest / Hungary, and I'm the developer for ElisabethHomeland where I create MaxForLive devices since 2021, when I released my first device, Varispeed.

The name ElisabethHomeland came from my home district in Budapest, “Pesterzsébet,” where I grew up. (Erzsébet is basically Elisabeth.)

I'm kind of a local patriot, and I always loved this place,
but as It turns out the name was a poor choice, as most people thought it was my actual name.

Now, everyone calls me Elisabeth… but I’ve gotten used to it. :D

I started to play guitar when I was around 10 or something,
Eventually I picked up bass on a rehearsal and it sticked with me.

Then I spent most of my early life playing in various bands, (mostly punk and grunge, but I loved everything.)

So that's where my interest in music comes from.

After high school, I attended the music college “Kőbányai Zenei Stúdió” where I learned Bass for 4 years. 

(I also lived there, which was pretty cool if you ask me. :D)

It was during this time that I was first introduced to DAWs.

I started with Cubase, then switched to Reaper, then Logic, and eventually tried almost every DAW out there.

I finally settled on Ableton Live, primarily because of MaxForLive.
I loved the idea that if I missed a functionality in the DAW, I could simply create it myself.

So that’s exactly what I did.

I missed Varispeed from Logic, liked the idea of a Visual Browser in FL Studio (even though it’s one of the DAWs I never really used), Reaper had something similar to my Wrappers, loved Cubase’s DimSolo option… and so on.

Over the years, I recreated everything I missed, and I also came up with my own ideas—like GroundControl, which integrates the UAD Apollo’s functionality into Live.

I didn’t have any programming background unless you count the time I played around with RPG Maker ( a basic 2D game-making engine ), for a year or two when I was about 14.

I just had ideas and learned the parts I needed to make them happen.

But over the years I think I got quite decent in it. : )

As for the future:

I still have plenty of ideas. So count on me sticking around. :)
